Why does swelling after rhinoplasty take so long?
Why does swelling of the nose after rhinoplasty take so long opposed to other types of swelling? What is the factor behind this extended period of swelling that makes the final result take 6 months to a year (or even longer) just to look normal? And how does the body know to continuously resolve swelling over an such an extended period of time?

Swelling doesn't last longer in the nose than elsewhere. It's the fact that the changes from rhinoplasty are usually very small compared to say body liposuction of breast enlargement. Very small changes in the nose make big differences in the appearance.
