Caucasian curly hair. Will FUE work? Is Artas still good for curly hair?

Curly Hair

Curly hair is definitely a viable option for FUE, assuming other factors don't disqualify you from getting the procedure. Be certain to go with a doctor that has experience with your hair type, look at before/after photos, etc. to make sure it is someone that will do a good job for you. ARTAS is fine but not necessary- experience and results are more important, especially for someone with a less common hair type.

This is a great question. In my opinion, the ARTAS has it's limitations as well as it may use a larger punch. Having said that, going to a more experienced FUE clinic that uses a manual or drill punch cannot be stated enough and especially with curly or wavy hair.

FUE for curly hair is generally harder than straight hair. It can be done but you would need to be tested to be certain.

Thank you for posting your question. Yes, you are a candidate for FUE even if you have curly/wavy hair. Depending on the number of grafts needed, Artas may or may not be the best option. Hope this helps. The only limitation with the ARTAS is at the moment, it only harvest from the back of the head, versus the temples as well. Hope this helps.

Curly hair and the ARTAS robot

With the ARTAS robot, the hair is shaved to a length of 1mm so that the curly does not show up to the robot at that length. So yes, curly hair will work when using an ARTAS robot
