How do surgical methods of fat reduction, specifically zeltiq, affect overall health?

I'm sure there's no substitute to working off the fat through proper diet and exercise but do any of the health benefits achieved that way (like improved cardiovascular health) also come about to some degree by surgical methods of fat reduction?

Coolsculpting and overall health

Coolsculpting is a great method of fat reduction for a given area.  Coolsculpting does not provide any overall cardiovascular benefit like expertise.  Coolsculpting is a non-surgical method of fat reduction and is a completely cosmetic procedure.

Non-Surgical CoolSculpting Body Contouring

CoolSculpting fat reduction is an excellent NON-surgical method for reducing isolated pockets of fat on a generally healthy patient.  This treatment is not intended to affect overall health but is used for sculpting the contour of the body.  The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting is generally healthy, has well defined borders of subcutaneous fatty tissue, and is medically cleared for treatment by an expert CoolSculpting provider.

Finding a practice on the CoolSculpting website that is the top provider in your area may have benefits for you.  At my practice we offer patients Instant Rebates for one free area of CoolSculpting when one area is purchased at full price.  Along with this buy one get one free rebate, we offer CoolSculpting Complete which includes dual machines for faster treatment, compression garments for comfort, and vibrational therapy to assist with lymphatic drainage.

CoolSculpting Does Not Affect Overall Health

CoolSculpting has no effect on your overall health. Rather, it is a treatment that non-invasively contours areas of the body by removing excess fat. It is important to note that it is not intended to have any effects on weight, but rather on contour.

It Doesn't Affect General Health

Zeltiq's CoolSculpting® procedure is a non-surgical fat reduction technique that works by reducing the temperature of the fat while protecting the skin and muscle in the area. Because fat freezes at a higher temperature than other tissues, only it will be damaged. The fat that is "injured" by the freezing process will be cleared by your body slowly, usually over a 4-month period. It has been shown that there are no adverse effects to the reduction. Your cholesterol and triglyceride levels will not increase during the process, but true health benefits, such as the cardiovascular health concerns benefits mentioned, are not likely to occur. As you said, there's no substitute for good health.

Does fat removal with Zeltiq or surgery improve cardiovascular health?

You are right in your assumption that the best way to get rid of fat is with diet and exercise and general lifestyle improvements. The "fat" that impacts your cardiovascular system is not the same as what accumulates on your body.If your goal is to be healthy, why not embrace that fully? There is no substitute for good health.

Zeltiq (CoolSculpting) is designed to reduce stubborn fat pockets on those who are already a normal weight so it is not a "weight loss" treatment.

Fat doesn't show up on the outside until it has pretty much occupied other spaces around your organs internally, so your best goal would be to increase your efforts to take good care of yourself. THEN, some externally-caused fat reduction could be useful for your appearance.

CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is safe, completely non-invasiveand and does not affect your general health

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared Harvard-developed treatment modality to safely and non-invasively eliminate areas of excess fat. Natural death of fat cells is triggered within the 1-hour treatment , and then the body removes the dead cells and lipid (fat) over the following two to three months. The gradual removal of fat ensures that there be no rise in triglycerides or cholesterol levels, as already proven by scientific studies.
