Sensitivity and pain in top left premolar after invisalign (and premolar extractions)?

I had gum graft surgery for my bottom front teeth, and the first top premolars extracted on both sides due to crowding. I wore invisalign for 3 years, and just started wearing retainers at night only. The part of the top left premolar that sticks into my mouth gets sensitive when it rubs against my tongue when I talk or eat. This leads to a localized headache and some pain in the tooth when biting down or into food. Is this just a part of settling or is something serious going on? Thank you!
