Can I get Rhinoplasty post covid? Will it impact my healing process?

Hello! I tested covid positive on monday May 30 and have a rhinoplasty to reduce dorsal hump and correct deviated septum on June 28. The surgeon is hesitant. My symptoms included scratchy throat (no cough, no fever), body aches for 1-2 days and fatigue. I am vaccinated. The surgeon is hesitant to proceed as it may impact my healing process. I just wanted another surgeons advice on whether it is safe to proceed or? Should i wait 1-month after a negative test or 1-month after covid symptoms start?

This is always a tough call because the guidelines change all the time.  Also your pcr  can remain positive for up to three months after Covid. You should ask your surgeon how to proceed. In my practice I would proceed if you are symptom free and the take home test is negative.

Thank you for your questions. 
I absolutely agree with your surgeon. Rhinoplasty is not an emergency lifesaving surgery and thus must be performed when your health is at its best. This is to reduce both anaesthetic and surgical risks. I would suggest that you postpone your surgery for minimum of 7 weeks so that your body can recover fully from COVID 19 and allow better healing conditions.
