Dental implants done 3 days ago. Med-strong pain since. 400mg advil helps pain for only a short time, 2hrs. Is something wrong?

One inserted 4 months after tooth extraction. Second, same side, done immediately after tooth extraction (same visit). Eating soft, mild foods. Keeping mouth clean/ brushing areas away from implants, gently rinsing with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Gums look ok, not much redness/ swelling, no pus or odor. Was given 3 day rx of antibiotic, took all as directed. Pain constant, not throbbing. Had another implant previously, by a different doctor, very little pain. Heavy smoker, type 2 diabetic.

Hi there. 400mg of ibuprofen should relieve you from pain for 4 hours. 600mg should relieve you for pain for 6, and 800mg should relieve you from pain for 8 hours. It's not uncommon for you to experience discomfort in the first few days, but please see your dentist for an evaluation.
