Does Smartlash Change Eye Color?

Doctor Answers 3

Not the same as Latisse

Smartlash does not have the same formula as Latisse, therefore it would not have the same side effects or risks. You would have to contact the manufacturer to find out what the side effects are for Smartlash.

Smartlash is not a scientifically tested, peer-reviewed product, so its side effect profile is difficult to know exactly. But it is unlikely that it would change eye color as long as it is not applied directly to the eyes.

Smartlash and eye color

Smartlash isn't Latisse and isn't FDA approved, so I can't speak to its side effects. Latisse doesn't change eye color, though, when used and applied correctly. That side effect came from the use of bimatoprost ophthalmic solution applied directly into the eye when used for glaucoma. Latisse is applied only to the top eyelid.
