With a sliding genioplasty I understand that you will have titanium placed in chin. While titanium is medically one of the safest metals, I have read that it can erode and get in your blood stream. I have also read about potential harmful electromagnetic waves being attracted to the metal. If I have my chin advanced for projection and down for some vertical length I there will be a gap. Will the bone grow back in between the gap together so I can eventually remove titanium plates and screws?
