Surgery to fix overbite and bring chin/jaw forward? Would a genioplasty work?

Without pictures this is a difficult question to answer, the short answer is that a genioplasty only addresses the chin, which can be advanced or set back, depending on what needs to be accomplished. IF you have a jaw discrepancy where your teeth do not bite together properly, this would need to be addressed with jaw(orthognathic) surgery, sometimes a single jaw(top or bottom), sometimes both and sometimes with a genioplasty also.
