How to Shave After Fraxel Restore?

It's 4 days after my first restore procedure. I can't avoid shaving now that I'm back at work, but what can I do - in the way of moisturizing and how I shave - to minimize the rawness and bumps/whiteheads around my mouth (where my beard is thickest) that I get from shaving?

There are many variable that must be addressed when answering your question.  For what indication is the Fraxel being used, fine lines, age spots, texture, acne scars? How high was the energy setting and how dense was the treatment level? How bad was your photodamage prior to the laser?...

I am not aware of any reports in our medical literature of delayed scarring from Fraxel. My practice was one of the first practices in the country to have had the Fraxel and I have not seen any acute or delayed scarring. We will keep our eyes and ears open.

The settings used on Fraxel vary significantly from physician to physician. The Restore settings can be 10 to 30 mJ for power and these energies are adjusted based on tolerance and depth of lines. There are times that we increase the energy to much higher for deep wrinkles and acne scars. The...

For an elective procedure it is always best to create the safest condition. It would be prudent to finish the course of Accutane and wait six months, at least, and then have the Fraxel, whether, Fraxel Resotre or Repair
