Additional 10 minutes needed for turbinate reduction

Turbinate surgery adds approximately 10 minutes to the rhinoplasty procedure time.  This is typically billed to the patient’s medical insurance and is covered out of medical necessity.  The turbinate reduction is not done for cosmetic purposes, only breathing.

Reduction of the bone and mucosa for turbinate removal is done to further improve the airway and just takes a few minutes more. Best regards!

Almost the same amount of time, maybe a few minutes longer.  I would discuss with your surgeon as well.
