What is the typical “fluence” used when conducting laser hair removal on dark skin using a Nd:YAG laser? (Photo)

I started treatment yesterday and didn’t feel anything, so I’m not sure it was effective. I also have many short, stubbly hairs. I thought I would be smooth until the hair grew back. The doctor used a “fluence” of 10, and I didn’t get the “rubberband snapping” sensation that everyone else claims to get. The device used was an Accento machine, if that makes a difference. I am between skin type V and VI, with thick, coarse dark hair.
