What grows between the flaps when the cartilage is removed? I'm guessing scar tissue or something like that?

upon diong a revision septoplasty do you observe an extremely thin translucent layer of tissue where the previous cartilage was cutout, what grows between the flaps when the cartilage is removed, im guessing scar tissue or something like that right? it's not just empty or just too flaps there has to be something there.
