Can I still get veneers with dental implants? (Photo)

Question

I was in a car accident that dislodged my teeth and as a result my dentist told me I’d need to get implants to 3 of my teeth. Can I still get veneers again after the implants? Or is it something that could be done all at once? I had veneers before the accident, now I want to get them redone for a more natural and even look.

Dental veneers cannot be placed on top of dental implants. Veneers are thin porcelain layers that are bonded to natural teeth, while dental implants are restored with implant crowns rather than veneers.
However, it is possible for a patient to have both implants and veneers as part of the same smile design. If some teeth are missing and require implants, those teeth would be restored with implant-supported crowns. The remaining natural teeth could potentially be treated with veneers if they are healthy and suitable for that type of restoration.
Whether veneers are appropriate also depends on factors such as bite alignment, tooth structure, and overall oral health. Not every patient is a candidate for veneers, so a clinical evaluation is important to determine the best treatment plan.
In many full smile restorations, dentists coordinate the materials used so everything matches well. For example, implant crowns and veneers can be made from similar ceramic materials such as zirconia or high-strength porcelain, which allows the final result to look natural and uniform.
A consultation and proper examination are the best way to determine which combination of treatments would provide the most stable and aesthetic outcome.
