I had PRK in 2005 at 29yrs old. The past 2 years, I have had to wear glasses for nearsightedness. Prescription is at -1.50 on both eyes. I am now considering getting a free retreatment under a lifetime plan that was offered back then. Is it worth it at my age? Would I be a good candidate? Of course, there are requirements that I must meet in order to get the free "Enhancement". Since it's technically free, and doesn't lead to their profits, is their decision to retreat, something I can trust?

The healing time after PRK can vary. Your symptoms sound like you are experiencing dry eyes which is normal to have after PRK. I would recommend using artificial tears every 2-4 hours at least for the first month. I would also recommend seeing your doctor.
There are a lot of issues that can delay visual recovery. Dryness (not very likely), haze (more likely), remnant or variable prescription (likely) are a few. The do usually get better and completely resolve by the year anniversary of the surgery.
PRK after RK can be effective for changing refraction and often has the reputation of helping with the swings in refraction. If you are good in the distance but becoming more myopic later then that's probably the best situation you could hope for. It would be nice to swing between 0 to -1...
