2.5 months post PRK. What is the role of astigmatism vs haze in ghosting? Need for topo vs wavefront enhancement?

2.5 mos after wavefront optimized PRK with alcon excimer 5000. Still having significant ghosting especially with reading road signs and traffic lights at night and on 1 drop pred forte for mild haze according to DO. Chances this will resolve in months to come? Current rx: plano, -1.25 and plano, -1.00? Please see pic for most recent post-op note and topo scans. Do I need an enhancement? Would i benefit more from topo or wavefront PRK for the enhancement if so?

You need to see the surgeon if you have ghosting. The medicine use is very important and steroids drops shouldn't be stopped to soon. Usually, if you have haze that is caused by corneal haze, the steroid drop dose would be increased. If your haze is from something else, then another treatment w...

You probably developed a small corneal abrasion from the trauma. The drops may be masking some of the discomfort. For the best result, call you surgeon and ask to be seen. Sometimes a scratch like this can set you back a few days healing wise.

Unfortuntately,  we can't enlarge the photo you posted but if you are struggling I would see the surgeon again and see what the next step is. You man not need an enhancement but if you do, a little more time should pass by.

If you have a small remnant prescription after the surgery you could wear glasses to help.Ask you surgeon to be sure as we don't have all the details. He/She will have the last Rx.The Rx will likely vary a little over the next few months as you get to your final Rx.

I am surprised you didn't have follow up in this country. Maybe you did and didn't keep the appointment?You shouldn't restart the steroid without physician supervision.Corneal haze and residual prescription are risks of not getting post op visits with PRK.

If you have dry eyes, there are other options to try. Punctal plugs can be inserted right in the doctor's office. There are also prescription eye drops for dry eyes. Good luck
