Vaginal rejuvenation

Thank you for your question. This is a procedure that has very minimal downtime, and that my patients are very happy with the results. If you have specific concerns about the aesthetics, it can be corrected. The benefits depend on your concerns.

The best way to give true advice would be an in person exam and consultation. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative body surgery.

Best of luck!

You Need Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

Vaginal rejuvenation is designed to tighten the vaginal canal if the vaginal supports are relatively intact. It is not a treatment for urinary incontinence. If you have incontinence which is severe according to your symptoms, your vaginal supports are clearly not intact and you will require pelvic reconstructive surgery aimed at correcting the urinary incontinence. This is a medical condition with surgical and nonsurgical management options covered by medical insurance.

Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) and Vaginal Rejuvenation.

Depending on the severity of your SUI, fractional CO2 laser treatments might be helpful. In more severe cases, surgery may be necessary. The laser treatments have zero downtime and are very effective in most cases. Femi Lift also improves lubrication and vaginal tone. If surgery is necessary, then there is the recovery to deal with but most patients do very well therein.

Vaginal rejuvenation for incontinence

Your solution requires a physical examination and urodynamic (bladder function testing) to determine the best solution.  Urinary incontinence is NOT treated by vaginal rejuvenation.   Some types of incontinence may be treated as an in office treatment with Femilift or Mona Lisa vaginal lasers to tighten up the tissue around the urethra.  The laser resurfacing procedures also tighten the vagina. Many women, however,  have significant  dropping of the bladder from vaginal deliveries and may require a lift of the bladder and urethra.  Small slings under the urethra have a very high success rate and are performed as an outpatient procedure. These surgeries are performed by gynecologists or urologists.  Incontinence surgery is usually covered by insurance as it is not a cosmetic procedure.
