My nose is pretty fat all around. Can surgery help cut some of it off?

This is embarrassing to say but as a little kid I picked my nose a lot. I guess I was dumb and didn't know but when I was little I've done it too much and now my nose is big. Picking my nose made it huge. Is there some sort of surgery that can be done to shrink it down to a normal size?

Hi Kevin,

A rhinoplasty procedure can reduce the size of your nose. It is hard to evaluate your nose without pictures. I recommend doing research on facial plastic surgeons who have extensive experience in rhinoplasties and scheduling a consultation. During a consultation you can ask to have your images computer imaged so you and the surgeon can discuss what changes you would like to make. This will also give you a realistic picture of what your nose could look like.

Nose reshaping

Hi Kevin. IT probably has nothing to do with picking your nose so don't blame yourself. Through rhinoplasty, the shape of the nose can be modified to make it smaller, thinner or more refined - according to your situation and desires. Arrange a consultation with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss appropriate options in full. Good luck!

You need to see a board certified plastic surgeon who will examine your nose and discuss what can be done. We don't "cut off" portions of your nose, but things can be done to thin noses.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Best wishes and good luck.

A large nose should be able to be reduced with rhinoplasty. You should get evaluated in person to determine what is possible for you.
