Recovery Time After Multiple Extractions

Immediate replacement dentures are pre-made before multiple extractions and placed over the extraction site to act as a bandage and improve healing while minimizing bleeding.  This also gives you teeth so that you can talk, eat, and smile again as soon as the numbness wears off.  The first two weeks of recovery may be the hardest, as sometimes tiny bone fragments may work their way out.  Gums do shrink as they heal after extractions, so the "immediate denture" normally becomes loose fitting as your mouth heals, and the denture should be relined or remade after around three months for a better fit.
