PMMA for the Buttocks and Face? Why Safe For Face But Not The Butt?

If PMMA is not safe for the buttocks why is it used as a facial filler for HIV patients. Im confused. If facial use was approved by the FDA why not other portions of the body. And why do we not hear about any of the people in Brazil having complications from buttocks injections with PMMA? It sounds like you US doctors are just trying to scare people into paying for your high procedures. And fat grafts dont even last.

PMMA is a product that was approved for the face. In general, a drug may be used off-label at the discretion of the doctor as long as the patient is awayre. However, what would be required in the buttock would be so much volume that the cost would be prohibitive.
