Do sopranao lasers have no before treatment or after treatment sun exposure requirements?

I'm an olive skinned male and I'm planning to have laser hair removal done on my back and upper arms. The specialist said that she will use either the soprano XL or soprano ice lasers. When I asked her how long I should avoid the sun before or after the procedure she said one day before treatment and two days after treatment due to the technology of this laser. Is it true some lasers have no risk of hyperpigmentation etc that could arise by sun exposure just before or just after treatment?
