Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. This is the surgical procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order to contour the body in a way that is harmonious and pleasing to the senses. It can be performed in almost all regions of the body such as the neck, chin, abdomen, back, buttocks, thighs, arms and ankles. Usually done through a small incision in the skin through which a cannula connected to a vacuum is applied, it can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. After liposuction your body is going to be really swollen for at least 2 to 4 months after your surgery. It is important for you to wear your compression garment for at least 6 months, the first 3 months 24/7 and then the last 3 months at least 12 hours per day for your body get use to not having the faja for so many time. When you remove it, your body can get swollen and also you can have pain. Remember to also compress your body to prevent a seroma which is an accumulation of liquid that has to be drained, it is hard to touch and also really painful. Bruises are completely normal for almost 3 months from surgery, that’s why is better for you to use a bruising cream and apply it all over your body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed performing a thigh lift…
It is very common to have bruising and swelling for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. My patients start treatments right away and it improves the long term results. Speak to your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is impossible to be precise without at least seeing some pictures. Generally speaking, some creases and irregularities may be normal after a liposuction, especially if the volume removed was significant and the skin elasticity not ideal. Over the first few months most irregularities and creases improve or fade away completely, but your surgeon will probably am you to massage the interested areas. Also, a garment that is not properly fitting is in itself a common cause of temporary surface irregularities after liposuction.
It would be appropriate to discuss this with your surgeon. Creases may occur following wrinkles in your postsurgical garment, bruising and scarring, or from technical issues with your liposuction. It may be too early to determine the cause. Your surgeon may wish that you begin massage of these areas. With time you may see much better results.
Skin can shrink very well after liposuction especially when additional energy sources are used such as BodyTite. With your unique situation, I recommend that you see your doctor and review your concerns.
The creases from your garment typically resolve. The fact that they disappear after massage should be very reassuring!
These creases are typically from the compression garments and resolve with massage. The garment should be examined and if there are ways to position the zippers or pad the areas then those steps should be taken to help eliminate the creases.
Thanks for your question; it would be good to do an evaluation; but generally depending of the size of the creases they should disappear; 5 weeks is to early to see final results in liposculpture; continue youe follow up consultations with your PS.
