When I smile, you can barely see my teeth. Is there any way to fix this or get a bigger smile? (Photo)

Ever since i was a child my teeth have barley show when i smile. Can a dentist or plastic surgeon fix this ?

A smile consists of the number of teeth and how much of each tooth is visible.Teeth can become worn over time and so look shorter or your smile may not be very wide and so you show less of your teeth.If the teeth are in perfectly good health, of a natural size and shape then adding veneers to make them longer would not really help as your teeth may resemble Jim Carey in the Mask.I would advise seeing a plastic surgeon who may be able to lift your smile so that more teeth are visible.Surgery does sound invasive, but so are veneers.

A consult with a plastic surgeon for a lip lift is one possibility. The other is to have a cosmetic dentist do porcelain veneers. You may decide to go with both to get a bigger smile.
