Lip Implants may be a reasonable option for those individuals who are seeking permanent lip enhancement or for those who have not been satisfied with the longevity of effect afforded by hyaluronic acid fillers.
The PermaLip (Perma Facial) Implant is FDA approved for permanent lip augmentation. The implant is currently available in one style, 3 length options (55 mm, 60 mm, 65 mm), and 3 thickness options (3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm).
Consider consultation with a board-certified facial surgeon to discuss your concerns and goals and which options may be best for you.
Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants (cheek, chin) for over 30 years. From the photos, your upper lip is small compared to your lower. Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, the upper lip should be approximately 75 % the size of the lower lip for the lips to appear balanced. The upper lip can be augmented using a dermal filler or a Permalip implant.
The Permalip lip implant comes in 3, 4 and 5 mm thickness and lengths of 55, 60 and 65 mm's to accommodate lips of different lengths. It's important to understand that implants, within the lips, require some degree of lip tissue to accommodate the implant. Unlike dermal fillers that can be used in very thin lips, using the thickest implant (5mm) in a the lip will increase the risk of infection and other unwanted side effects.
Hope this helps.
There is only one style to the Permalip implants. They do come in different lengths and thickness to best fit each patient's need.
Thank you for asking about your lip implants.
- Permalip comes in various sizes - 3, 4 and 5 mm.
- And lengths, up to 65 mm.
- Its style does not change - it is a filler and is shaped as a tube to add volume to the lip.
- Its goal is to make the lip larger, not to change its shape.
