What are the pros and cons of restoring an upper incisor fracture at the gum line, pin and post, bridging, and dental implant?
I fe'ed upper central incisor, at the gum line. Dentist recommends a tooth implant, expensive and potentially time consuming. I prefer a quicker and less expensive pin and post but he says risk of root fracture is too great even if the root is intact. He did recommend bridging four teeth to provide strength needed to secure the restoration. I am 88 years old and worried both implant and bridge are overkill. If root is in tact why root fracture risk high? What are pros and cons of each restoration?
