I need 23 crowns. The top front crowns have worn down the front bottom teeth causing my bite to be decreased significantly. I was evaluated by several prosthodontists telling me I need an increase in the vertical dimension to insure my bite is back to optimal level, approximately 5-6mm, based on the diagnostic images.

Hi Marianne,The cost varies depending on what you need, and which doctor you see.  If you truly are going to have 23 crowns done, please make sure you do your research and find a very experienced dentist to do this procedure.  Replacing 23 crowns is very difficult, and takes a level of skill that not every dentists has. You can expect to pay a good amount to have this done correctly, but ask your dentist if it can be completed in phases (maybe by doing the back teeth first, then moving to the front).  Good luck!

You may have had sticker shock when being told the cost to restore your entire mouth. What you are describing is NOT something every dentist can handle. This is complex and difficult work that requires a level of expertise above the average dentist. Cost to do this type of work will very slightly but you should expect to pay approximately what 23 crowns would cost PLUS the added cost of increased time, expertise, lab fees and skill required (by both doctor and lab technician) to successfully complete this type of case. If done well you will be absolutely amazed by the results.Good luck!
