I had Gastric Bypass in 1997. I am now having heart issues. Can malabsorption cause heart problems years after the surgery?

I am having issues with A-Fib and palpitations. It is getting worse as time passes. I also have the symptoms more and more now everytime I eat anything. My heart will start fluttering almost instantly and even go into A-Fib at times as soon as I try to eat anything. Can being low on iron and vitamin D casue lang time heart issues such as these? I have a cardiologist, but he seems clueless about any connection between eating and my heart acting up. Thank you for any help you can provide.
