Traditional liposuction and tumescent liposuction would be synonymous.

Tumescent liposuction is traditional

Tumescent liposuction is the standard.  Traditional liposuction these days would be tumescent liposuction.

Tumescent vs traditional

Tumescent liposuction is the standard of care.  This involves injected fluid into the soft tissue to prepare the fat for removal, prior to evacuating the fat.  The solution usually consists of IV fluid to help place the fat in a liquid medium, which is easier to evacuate.  It also contains lidocaine for patient comfort and dilute epinephrine to cause blood vessels to constrict and minimize bleeding and bruising.  Hope this explanation is helpful!

Tumescence liposuction involves using fluid to minimize bleeding, provide anesthesia, and help expand the tissues prior to liposuction. Most surgeons now use this technique since it makes the procedure safer, has much less bleeding, and more can be removed.  Originally, liposuction, the fat removal, was done without injecting much fluid and under general anesthesia..

The Best in Body Sculpting--VASER HI DEF, ThermiRF, ultrasound

It is not really the tool, it is the technique used that gives the best results with liposuction. I recommend VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF, ultrasound and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, and contouring. HD contouring is much more complex, defining and can give the best in skin tightening, cellulite reduction, body shaping, and fat reduction than traditional approaches. I suggest a consult with a hi-def physique liposuction expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Tumescent liposuction refers to the fluid that is injected prior to the removal of fat. This contains epinephrine and lidocaine to minimize pain and bleeding.  You could consider this traditional liposuction. There are other devices on the market such as vaser, laser lipo and ultrasound, etc. All these still use tumescent prior to removal of fat.

Before having liposuction your PS will discuss which type they use and its benefits for what you are having done
