2 days post op LASIK, and although my vision seems to be getting better I do have blurriness in both eyes.

Question

I understand its early days and at my follow up appointment the lady said everything looked ok and was healing correctly. She did say I had water under the flaps which again is normal and this is what is causing the blurriness, and that I just need to wait for it to soak into the tissue. I was just wondering how long normally this will last and when will my vision hopefully start being normal? I'm not being inpatient just want to know that this is normal? Thanks Chris

After LASIK, there can be some mild swelling, or edema, in the front part of your eyes where the laser was applied. Sometimes patients describe this as a film over their eyes. It usually takes less than a week for the swelling to go down.

It is very normal to have some blurriness and fluctuations in your vision following LASIK, particularly in the first week. Just make sure to use the post-operative medicated drops as directed and artificial tears when you need them. By 1 week the vision should be significantly better and more stable but there can still be some fluctuations due to dryness for another few months.
