Is surgery safe for me?
I would like to have surgery on my deviated septum including a rhinoplasty. I have von willebrands disease type 1. I've only had very minor procedures before with no bleeding issues. (Gum graft, wisdom teeth, cone biopsy) If I did well with those do you think facial surgery will be safe too? Thanks!

On the surface I would think you could have a septorhinoplasty without serious risk. Only a face to face consultation with review of your records and examination findings would allow your doctor to decide how to proceed. I have operated on several VWF patients over the years and have never had a problem.
