Branchial Cleft Cyst- Imaging Not Always Needed

It really depends on the location and the clinical concern from your physician's physical exam when determining if imaging is needed prior to surgery.  Many of these lesions do not require imaging.  If imaging were requested, an MRI is generally a better test for evaluating this lesion and potential sinus tracts.

CT scan is important. The surgery can be done without a CT scan by a good qualified surgeon. But any help in following the brancheal ceft cyst os great.
