My eyes were red before lasik from giant papillary Conjuctivitus and now six weeks post lasik they seem worse. How soon is to safe to use a steroid drop to try and reduce the redness and other symptoms? Also will waiting too long make the red become permenant?

There is something missing here.There is a mis-match between your diagnosis ( ocular inflammation) and the treatment (anti-infective or anti-biotic).Tobramycin is a drop for infection. It's an antibiotic. If you don't have an infection if won't help and may make your dry eye worse.
Rainbow glare is hopefully getting less common with refinements in Femto flap creation. It still can happen but usually gets better over time.But you should report the problem to the surgeon and have him/her take a look as interface inflammation can also mimic the the problem. Better to catch it...
