Is it safe to use steroid drop 6 weeks after LASIK?

Question

My eyes were red before lasik from giant papillary Conjuctivitus and now six weeks post lasik they seem worse. How soon is to safe to use a steroid drop to try and reduce the redness and other symptoms? Also will waiting too long make the red become permenant?

GPC is typically caused by contact lens wear. Since you have been out of contacts for 6 weeks, the redness and irritation may not be due to GPC. It is possible that LASIK related dryness is causing the redness and discomfort. Steroids are safe to use 6 weeks after LASIK, however, please see your LASIK doctor for a follow up so that you will be treated properly.
