1 month PO extended tummy tuck: Ddraining orangey liquid (not serous fluid previously seen) - Is this a crisis?

Both drains removed 1 week PO. Rt drain exit site closed after 20 days of draining. Blister like bubble formed, opened today & is draining orangey liquid. Does not look same as pale yellow serous fluid previously seen- darker orange & seems to be liquified fat- more oily. Doesn't smell & doesn't seem to be infected. I'm continuing w/wound care as done previously. Do I need to call PS asap or can this wait a day or so? Don't feel like this is a crisis but not sure. Please advise.

Draining post tummy

As long as you are not experiencing fever and chills and no signs of infection you can wait  a day or so to see your doctor.Soemtimes after a a tummy tuck there can be persistent drainage that will accumulate.

One month out

and draining orange colored fluid should be evaluated by your surgeon.  In the absence of inflammation, fevers, increasing pains, or induration, its unlikely to be urgent.  Still best to see your surgeon.

Orange Drainage

It does sound like this needs to be addressed by physical exam. I would contact your PS ASAP just to be on the safe side.

I can appreciate your concern and your questioning whether or not to call you surgeon.  Regardless of whether or not this is anything of great concern, your surgeon will have the greatest knowledge of your course and your care.  I would give them a call.
