Microdermabrasion: worth it or a scam? Any cheaper options such as facials for my skin?

Thank you for your question. Yes microdermabrasion will help reduce superficial pigmentation, superficial acne scaring, and reduce the appearance of superficial fine lines. It also speeds up collagen production by promoting circulation because of the suction provided by the device. I would recommend using a mild glycolic peel after to speed up the process of your results followed by extractions. Although microdermabrasion will be highly beneficial to your current skin condition, it is certainly not a one treatment and done type of remedy. You will need to continue to get them at 3-4 weeks a part from each other to maintain optimum skin health. It will add up, but definitely will be worth every penny.

Microdermabrasions are great treatments as they thoroughly exfoliate the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin making room for new cell turnover revealing a smoother, more even, healthy complexion. They are not, however, a one time only treatment.
