I've been doing a little research I was wondering which laser hair removal treatment work best for darker skin : Ultimate Light™/ Pulsed Light (IPL) or Nd: Yag?

It is generally accepted that the Nd:YAG laser (1064nm) is the safest laser for hair removal in patients with darker skin. Please note that more treatments are generally needed then in patients with lighter skin as the laser settings need to be adjusted (milder) for darker skin. These treatments can be tricky and my recommendation is to do your homework and go to an experienced laser practicioner.

I agree with Dr. Pozner, a 1064nm works best with skin type III and higher.  It is also important not to be in the sun for two weeks prior to your treatment.
