Memory Gel Implants - Do They Move and Feel Natural?

I[ve used this implant from mentor for over 10 years and have been very satisfied with the natural appearance and feel of the implants. 

As already pointed out, your own breast tissue and body type also have a lot to do with how natural your results will appear so be sure you choose a surgeon who works carefully with you in fornt of the mirror to choose the best size and shape of implant for you !

The answer to your question depends on your breast anatomy you currently have. Memory gel placed under the muscle look the most natural. A consultation is necessary to give you an exact answer.

Lolita, the "Memory Gel" Mentor silicone gel implants are soft and jiggly, in the manufacturer's packaging.  Once implanted in your body, there is a period of time when all silicone gel implants feel stiff and haven't displaced.  It's impossible to predict how long that waiting time is, however, in general, it ranges between 1-3 months.  For dual plane patients, the firmness is a function of the pectoralis muscle needing to accomodate.  So it's not unusual for women to experience a latency between surgery and final displacement. 

I completely concur with the other consultants that there are many factors which may disallow any gel implant from eventually becoming natural.  To summarize: patient factors: How much native breast tissue do you have? Have you had previous saline breast implants? Is the overlying breast tissue overly thinned out? Are the bases of the breasts congruent? Do you have any chest wall or rib cage asymmetries? Did you develop excessive breast scar capsular contracture?  joint factors: Did you choose an implant which was appropriate for your chest wall diameter? Was the pocket under- or over-dissected. 

The "Memory Gels" are not the cohesive gel implants, which are stiffer and less natural.  Hope this helps.

Memory gel implants are a great product.  How natural they will look and feel really depends upon your anatomy ( like how much breast tissue you start out with) and how large of an implant you go with.

The result of breast augmentation with memory gel implants depends on several factors, such as size of implants, placement above or below the muscle, original size of breast and soft tissue coverage. In general, gel implants have a natural feel quite similar to breast tissue. There may be some movement associated with them but they do not need to look "really fake" while exercising or running.

A breast augmentation with gel implants can give you a very natural result.  However, it is best to select an implant size that fits your frame i.e. chest and breast size.  Meaning the smaller you go the more natural you will look.  The caveat to this is the larger you go the less natural you will look.  Your plastic surgeon will help you select the size most appropriate for your frame. Memory gel filled implants are the most natural implants available on the market.  They provide a very natural result in terms of feel and appearance.  That is why so many thousands of women have them placed every year.  Of course, there are risks to having implants, which you should discuss with an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

Silicone breast implants, particularly Mentor's Memory Gel implants, are the most natural implants available.  How they will look and feel, however depends upon a number of factors including: implant size, beginning breast size, placement over or under the muscle, and the type of capsule or scar tissue that forms around the implants.  There are usually several options for patients considering this, and some may be better than others.  However, the decision to go with silicone is a good one if you are wanting the most natural look and feel. 

In most cases, silicone implants look quite good, and don't look fake.  When you are running, however, you will want to wear good support in your bras in order to both support your breasts and maintain the shape of your breasts over the long haul.  I usually recommend the UnderArmour "Endure" bra for women who have had breast enlargements (or who naturally have large breasts).  They give great support and all my patients love them.

The best way to sort through your options is to spend some time with a board certified plastic surgeon and have an in depth discussion of this.

In surgery, there are no guarantees, and surgical technique is very important. And you cannot get huge implants.  But for most patients, these implants look really good.
