Can bones move back after cast removal?

How likely is it that bones will move back after being broken in rhinoplasty? If they are supported by the cast for longer than a week is this risk reduced? Many thanks

Dear Maddie,

Thank you for your question.  They could possibly move back after one week of surgery with the cast being removed.  Sometimes the cast is taken off after ten days, then taped for another week.  We tell our patient's to take care not to bump or press on their nose while it's healing, especially the first six weeks after Rhinoplasty.

Best of Luck!
