Ears can't be seen from the front view. (Photo)

I'm 26 y.o. and recently realised that my ears are different in a way that they are not visible from the front. They don't really stick out from my head. I've also noticed that it caused me poor hearing which I thought was normal hearing. When I stretch my ears out a little or cup it with my hands, I can hear much better than I normally do. Is this normal? Do my ears need correction and how do I do it? Thanks
