Can taping your nose have adverse effects?

I noticed that there is a lot of pressure that gets put on the nose when taping and with the act of peeling the tape off, the nose skin gets pulled away which seems counter intuitive as the tape is to encourage the skin draping on the underlying structure. Is there a potential to hurt the outcome of the surgery by te pressure applied from taping and the constant peeling off the tape ?

Taping nose after rhinoplasty

Post operative taping of the nose after rhinoplasty will help to reduce swelling. Without it, the skin would be lifted by the swelling and it would take a lot longer for it to correct itself. It is better to ask your surgeon about his preference of taping.
