Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. This is the surgical procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order to contour the body in a way that is harmonious and pleasing to the senses. It can be performed in almost all regions of the body such as the neck, chin, abdomen, back, buttocks, thighs, arms and ankles. Usually done through a small incision in the skin through which a cannula connected to a vacuum is applied, it can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. After liposuction your body is going to be really swollen for at least 2 to 4 months after your surgery. It is important for you to wear your compression garment for at least 6 months, the first 3 months 24/7 and then the last 3 months at least 12 hours per day for your body get use to not having the faja for so many time. When you remove it, your body can get swollen and also you can have pain. Remember to also compress your body to prevent a seroma which is an accumulation of liquid that has to be drained, it is hard to touch and also really painful. Bruises are completely normal for almost 3 months from surgery, that’s why is better for you to use a bruising cream and apply it all over your body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed performing a thigh lift…
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that can help sculpt the
body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas of the body. Through a tiny
incision, a narrow tube called a cannula is inserted and used to vacuum the
layer of fat that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula, while pushed and
pulled through the layer of fat, breaks up the fat cells and suctions them out.
Liposuction can be performed on various areas of the body including the
abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck.
This procedure can be very effective, showing a noticeable difference
in the shape of your body quite soon after surgery. However, improvement will
become even more apparent after about four to six weeks post op. About three
months after liposuction, any persistent mild swelling usually disappears and
the final contour will be visible.
Liposuction - what is it?
- Thank you for your question about your liposuction.
- Liposuction is the surgical removal of fat underneath the skin using suction
- It is a little like using a tiny vacuum cleaner to remove excess fat.
- The surgical steps include tumescent fluid that reduces the pain and separates skin from muscle.
- Then making tiny incisions to put in a blunt tube (the cannula) to remove the fat.
- Then closing the incisions and putting on a garment.
- Liposuction can be done with local anesthesia, general anesthesia or local with intravenous sedation.
- Swelling after liposuction lasts for months - so it takes time to see your final result.

Although with a good diet and exercise, sometimes there’s
only so much we can do to reverse nature’s cruelties. That’s where science
comes in. No, reshaping your body isn’t as easy as going to the beauty parlor.
Surgery is never 100% risk free and the healing process requires patience and
determination. Liposuction works best on patients who are of relatively average
weight, but who need help with a problem area, or with shedding the ten pounds
they regain between diets. If you have good skin quality and minimal sagging,
you make an ideal candidate for liposuction.
Liposuction modifies volume by sucking out fat, and liposuction candidates need
good skin tone. The procedure takes about an hour, the recovery takes just a
couple of days, and there's virtually no scarring. I use several innovative
forms of liposuction, including SmartLipo, in order to contour and resculpture
the area while providing the most beautiful results with minimal scarring.
SmartLipo, used in combination with other forms of liposuction or alone, is a
procedure that uses laser light to liquefy fat and tighten the surrounding
skin. Liposuction as an outpatient procedure under I.V. sedation can easily
reduce the bulge that some people have in their abdomens. Because liposuction
stimulates the skin to tighten, good elasticity provides a smooth contour after
fat is removed.
Liposuction is fat harvesting that can be used to define and sculpt muscles in other parts of the body or used to thin the body.
Suggest your consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to gain a better understanding of what if involved.

Thanks for your question. Though there are several techniques and some devices, liposuction thins the layer of padding immediately beneath your skin (but not in the belly cavity itself). It's used for shaping and thinning but not for weight loss per se.
Watch the video that I've linked above and meet with an ABPS Bd Certified plastic surgeon for a face to face consultation.
