Cellfina: What is procedure like?
Cellfina is a long lasting, FDA cleared treatment for cellulite dimples on the buttocks and outer thighs. The technology uses a light local anesthetic, along with a novel tool that is gently placed under the skin to release and eliminate cellulite dimples. The treatment takes about an hour, is comfortable for patients, and recovery is rapid. Most patients rated the discomfort as a 2-3 out of 10 during the treatment, and patients can drive themselves home after the procedure. About half of patients took only Tylenol for pain in the few days after the procedure, and pain dropped to zero within a few days. A light compression garment similar to Spanx is worn for 5-7 days after the treatment. Side effects such as bruising and swelling were minor, last only a few days, and resolved in 100% of the patients in the FDA study we performed at our office, Skincare Physicians near Boston. Many patients were able to begin to see results as soon as 3 days after the procedure, and 99% of the time the results were obvious.

Cellfina Procedure and Recovery
the newest cellulite treatment on the market. We are proud to be of the first
practices in the country to offer this commercially. We are very excited about
this treatment, as it’s unique in its mechanism. In the patients we have
treated thus far, we have seen unbelievable results. This procedure does not require general anesthesia or any oral medications for pain or
sedation, its minimally invasive, with very little downtime. Our patients returned
to work the next day. There may be some swelling and bruising. You wouldn't want to have the area exposed in a bikini for 10-14 days since swelling and bruising can take this long to heal, in some patients. It involves a local numbing solution, and then a device is used to release the fibrotic strands that are causing the cellulite dimple.
Cellfina will make her national TV debut on Friday, May 1st on The
Doctors!!! Please check the show’s website for your local network listings.
Please tune in for more details. Also, call our office for more information.
Cellfina is a minimally invasive
procedure in that the area of cellulite to be treated is suctioned up into the
device, anesthetized and then the fibrotic strands that are causing the dimpling
or pin-cushion effect are released. Some bruising and tenderness is likely to
occur and may last 2 -3 weeks. Results typically are excellent and last over a
year, if not many years.
What is Cellfina and what is the procedure like?
Cellfina is the latest minimally invasive, FDA approved device for the treatment of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. Patients do well with oral sedation to help relax. The areas of dimples are numbed and then a tiny knife blade is used to cut through the fibrous bands which are causing the skin to dimple. Patients will see immediate improvement, but will also have swelling and bruising for 1-2 weeks. Most people return to work the next day with minimal pain. Results have been shown to last at least 3 years.
Cellfina is the newest, most effective FDA approved technology available for treating cellulite. This one-time, minimally invasive procedure takes only 45 minutes to perform, but the results last for a minimum of two years. Cellfina has the longest lasting results of any current cellulite treatment. Its approval rate is over 93% on RealSelf
Used on moderate to severe cellulite of the buttock and thighs, Cellfina works by treating the rubber-band-like connective tissue that causes cellulite. When these “rubber bands” under the skin are cut, the fat trapped underneath in dimples “snaps” back into place, creating a full, smooth appearance.
There is no cutting and no incisions. To perform this controlled, precise, and safe procedure, a vacuum hand piece is placed over the dimpled tissue through which the surgeon will deliver a local anesthetic. Then a small, needle-like microblade is inserted to release the fibrous bands, the cause of cellulite.
Your cellulite problem is a common one. Fortunately, finally there are effective ways to minimize this problem. Perhaps the least invasive one is Cellfina™. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina™, combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results and has a high satisfaction rating on RealSelf. Together with Velashape 3, a non invasive procedure to help "shrink wrap the skin" and further minimize cellulite as a combination treatment is perhaps your best chance for taking care of this tough problem. Cellulaze is also a possible treatment but much more invasive
Cellfina is a brand new, FDA-approved cellulite reduction and elimination treatment. It is a single treatment, done under local anesthetic, and creates permanent improvement in the appearance of cellulite dimples of the buttocks and thighs. Results have been nothing less than outstanding, and patient satisfaction is sky high. Our patients drive home following the procedure and begin to see improvement the first week.
Cellfina is an exciting new technology that addresses the structural cause of cellulite - fibrous bands that pull down on the skin causing the characteristic cellulite puckering or dimpling. Cellfina is a minimally invasive procedure to sever these bands. The Cellfina device uses a revolutionary system to numb the skin and target these bands. Patients experience minimal discomfort (mainly the pinch of the needle to numb the skin). Following treatment, patients have mild tenderness. The first weeks after treatment, patients must wear mild compression garments (Spanx/yoga pants) and avoid strenuous exercise. Results can be seen as early as three days, and current clinical studies indicate the results last over 3 years!
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in the office. Once it is complete light dressings are applied, a light compression with Spanks is recommended and then you can resume normal activities.
