Thinking about about anaesthesia, I was wondering what kind of anaesthesia is used for rhinoplasty?
Answer: Can rhinoplasty be performed under local anesthesia? In fact, rhinoplasty is often performed under local anesthesia. The local anesthesia not only makes the region numb, but it also helps to control any bleeding during the surgery. I will often add sedation – either oral or intravenous - to the local anesthesia, so that it is a more pleasant experience.

Answer: Thinking about about anaesthesia, I was wondering what kind of anesthesia is used for rhinoplasty? Thank you for the question. Although use of a local anesthetic is possible for some rhinoplasty surgeries, it is advised to use general anesthesia for the safety and comfort of the patient. Some surgeries are less invasive and do not require general anesthesia. Consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty as well as a board certified anesthesiologist will give you a better idea on what type of anesthesia should be used in your specific case. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty under general anesthesia In our practice we perform all rhinoplasty procedures under general anesthesia by a board-certified physician anesthesiologist for patient safety and comfort. Patients simply cannot tolerate the injections placed in the nose and the osteotomies placed in the nasal bones. Very important to have a controlled airway so that blood does not get aspirated in the lungs.
