Olive/dark Skinned - Hyperpigmentation under eyes post Fraxel and/or IPL treatment. Is there a cure ? PLEASE HELP!

I underwent the PRP/Fraxel & IPL treatment. 4 weeks later I noticed the dark circles under my eyes were much worse. They almost looked like bruises. (I wear an SPF 30 everyday without fail after my treatment.) The doc said that this is a side effect from fraxel. Therefore, she gave me IPL (600) and YAG laser to alleviate the dark circles. 2 - 4 weeks later, its even worse. She prescribed me a HYDROQUINIONE 10% to apply under and around my eyes to help reverse the hyperpigmentation. cure?

Really hard to say if this is PIH, melasma or a combination of both. A Board certified dermatologist who performed this can shed light as to the diagnosis. As for treatments, certainly HQ creams can help, I would also add some gentle regular laser sessions- like Clear and Brilliant or even low dose QSL. All the best, Dr Davin Lim, Brisbane. I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in treating darker skin types.  You can do a combination of skin care, lasers, and peels.  Best, Dr. Emer.
