Will my nasal tip drop? It's been 2 months since open surgery. I'm very worried! Please help! (Photo)

Dear xxgnsmelxxIt is possible for the tip to de-rotate (drop) after rhinoplasty with gravity and as swelling subsides. This often happens when an inexperienced surgeon does not properly create/use proper tip support (such as a strut graft) and happens more often with thick skin tips that have thick cartilages. Having said that, I recommend you find a properly trained and experienced surgeon to give you proper advice after a consultation.  I would not rush into revision surgery.

 You still have a sizable amount of swelling in the nasal tip but I don't think the angle between the nose and the upper lip is going to change. Nevertheless, you have to wait until swelling is complete before passing final judgment.

You are still early in the recovery phase and are healing from your rhinoplasty. Hard to say if the tip will move any at this point. It is typically not an expectation after rhinoplasty that the tip will move much if adequate support is created in that area of the nose. I would recommend having adequate followup with your rhinoplasty specialist throughout this process to monitor the nose for any changes and address any concerns you have along the way. Best of luck.
