I got lip fillers 3 days ago and I have noticed the inside of my lips are very bumpy after them. A lot of people have pointed this out and ask me straight away if I've gotten fillers (I wanted to do it descretly and didn't tell anyone) this is upsetting as I don't want it to be super obvious. I'm worried my injector has done a botched job! Will these issues subside? What do you think and what should I do? Thank you
Answer: Lip Fillers It is common to be very swollen after receiving lip filler injections. Swelling can last for about 10-14 days after your treatment. During this time, the lips may appear a lot larger than what you expected and you might feel some large lumps too. However, the swelling will decrease day by day. Expect to see the final effects 14 days after your lip filler treatment, when the swelling and large bumps have subsided. If you feel that your lips are still too large, or if you still have bumps after 14 days, it would be best to go back to your provider and have the filler removed.

Answer: Injectable fillers It appears that some of your filler may be superficial. You can return to your injector for advice. I check placement after I inject product to confirm it is in the appropriate position and there are no bumps or lumps. I also see many patients like you who are unhappy with their product placement. It is important to make sure your injector listens and understands what your goals and expectations are to have the best experience possible.

Answer: Lumpy after lip augmentation with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) You have swelling which can take 1-2 weeks to resolve after lip injections. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Bumpy lips after lip filler placement Swelling and some lumpiness is normal for a few days up to a week or two after injection of filler into the lips. Especially if needles are used, some bruising and bumps are usually expected and typically subside over the following week. A microcannula can be used to add volume to lips with much less swelling and/or bruising, but needles are usually needed if shaping and definition of the lips is desired. You can gently massage the lumps of filler if you can feel them. Use your finger and thumb and pinch the lump and apply gentle pressure for a minute or two. This can help to dissipate the lumps and help your lips become more smooth in appearance.
