What is the Lifestyle Lift? Is It As Good As a Mini Facelift?

I am wondering if the Lifestyle Lift is the same thing as a mini lift or a verticle lift, just much more advertising.

Mini facelift vs lifestyle lift

It is my opinion in many things in life including facelifts "less is less" not less is  more. A lifestyle llft is performed by generally non plastic surgeons very quickly leaving out many maneuvers shown to give lasting results in clinical studies. A facelift must be custom tailored to your aging pattern or you will look like a freak or under done and wasted your money.

A lifestyle lift versus a mini facelift

{{ voteCount >= 0 ? '+' + (voteCount + 1) : (voteCount + 1) }}

A mini facelift results in mini results. There is a big push form minimally invasive surgery which, in many instances is very appropriate. The concept of a mini facelift is great advertising but it frequently yields disappointing results.

A lifestyle lift is a lower third facelift that addresses jowling and neck laxity (turkey neck).  Most surgeons use a smas plication or imbrication technique which is a method of anchoring the muscle in a more elevated position. The lift involves an incision around the ear and into the hairline as well as a small incision under the chin. This is one of the most traditional facelift techniques available. It is not revolutionary and it is not a "mini" lift.

There are a lot of private practice plastic and facial plastic surgeons who are capable of giving you a much better experience and much more tailored procedure that meet your unique needs. I would visit with at least three other qualified and experience surgeons and go with the surgeon who you trust will get you the results you are looking for and a great experience. Good Luck!

About Facial Rejuvenation with Lite-lift™

Patients who desire facial rejuvenation that is affordable, quick, and effective should consider the Lite-lift™. The LiteLift™ is an innovative facelift developed by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Larry Nichter and myself which benefits many male patients. The goal of the #LiteLift is to provide a less invasive natural looking option for both men and women desiring to refresh their appearance with less downtime and risks. The LiteLift® is a “real” facelift, which does address the underlying muscle, tissue and overlying skin.

The technique requires limited incisions and takes a vertical lifting approach, in contrast to the traditional facelift, which requires extensive incisions and lifts or pulls the face towards the ears horizontally. The modern techniques used allow us to perform most LiteLift® procedures in the office under local anesthesia. Also, removing the risk of general anesthesia opens the door for more people to pursue facial surgery. All too often people do not move forward with undergoing the desires facelift surgery due to their overwhelming fear of the risks associated with general anesthesia.

This is a modified facelift that can be performed in the office with a local anesthetic and improve signs of aging around the neck, jawbone and lower face. These procedures are not "Thread-lifts" or "String-lifts". We do not use the "barbed" sutures employed in these other lifting operations. The Lite-lift™ uses longer lasting techniques that are discussed below. Because the incisions are limited, there is less bruising, swelling and healing time for most patients. Many patients can be back to work in one to two weeks looking rested and more youthful.
The best candidates for #LiteLift are non-smoking patients 35-60 years old with stable skin elasticity, well-defined bone structure but showing early changes of the lower face and the neck. Older patients who cannot or do not wish to have a longer operation or general anesthetic can be improved with a Lite Lift™. All in all, Lite Lift™ surgery is individualized for each patient.

The basic Lifestyle Lift procedure is a short-flap SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) procedure that hasbeen a proven, well-established facial plastic surgical procedure for more than 30 years. The procedure lifts and secures
the sagging skin and deeper muscle tissues from the lower face and neck. The incision is neatly concealed along the hairline, in front of and behind each ear. Excess skin is trimmed and the incision closed. Liposuction may be used in the
neck area if needed.Patients receive oral sedation prior to the procedure and the incision line is numbed with local anesthesia. Patients are comfortable, relaxed and alert throughout the procedure. Some patients nap through the procedure.
The short-flap SMAS has become an increasingly popular procedure among surgeons for many reasons including safety, efficacy and cost. Each individual is different, but unlike face creams, fillers and Botox, Lifestyle Lift results are long lasting.

To achieve the most satisfying results, our physicians customize the recommended treatment to the specific needs of the patient, which may include additional procedures such as blepharoplasty, liposuction or laser treatment. Because
each patient is unique, outcomes and recovery times vary. Typically, recovery time is about a week, but some patients may take longer. Surgical incisions are carefully concealed in the hairline and behind the ear. The amount of scarring differs for each
patient. Excessive scarring can often be minimized with laser treatment, and Lifestyle Lift physicians use the most advanced laser technology available in the field today.

Lifestyle Lift physicians only perform facial rejuvenating procedures, making them among the most experienced specialists in the country. As a result, Lifestyle Lift has an outstanding safety record. Our rate for complications is less than 0.5 percent, far lower than the average rate as reported in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Additionally, our approach to reporting, tracking and managing complications is unique and exemplary for the profession. All complications are reported and reviewed by one of three regional medical directors. We’ve presented numerous professional presentations on our complication and infection rates, including annual AAFPRS meetings.

The Lifestyle Lift company heavily markets a procedure, which in its "base price" form is a type of mini lift; you may be encouraged to upgrade to include a neck procedure or laser. It is important to understand that it is not a revolution or even an advance in technique specifically.  In fact, your Lifestyle Lift results may be better, or worse depending on who is doing it and how it is performed. If you would like to have more insight on the spectrum of the LSL experience, please listen to the Internet radio show (two part series) by Dr. Adam Rubinstein, a Miami Plastic Surgeon.

You should also be aware that the company is currently under investigation by the Florida Attorney General's office and has previously been fined by the NY Attorney General's office for AstroTurfing.
