Breast Implant brand and capsular contracture

Hi.  I do not think there is any significant difference among implant brand or manufacturer and capsular contracture.  More important is technique.  That includes things like using antibiotic rinses, and having meticulous surgical technique and minimizing bleeding.  I would recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon with good experience with breast augmentation.  Good luck and take care. Silicone implants, some advices:

Thank you very much for this interesting question.
In my practice i recommend using - Cohesive Gel - Silicone Breast Implants with textured cover.
They are quite safe and aesthetically best as they give a firmer consistency, better projection and most natural appearance than Saline implants.
Kind regards,

What is the best implant brand to reduce capsular contracture?

Thank you for your question.  The rate of capsular contracture between implant brands is very similar when comparing the same types of implants.  However, there is a reduced risk of capsular contracture with anatomically shaped implants compared to round implants.  To find out what option might be right for you, consult with one or more board certified plastic surgeons with experience using all implant types and brands.  Best wishes!

What is the best implant brand to reduce capsular contracture?

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Most surgeons believe capsular contracture occurs due to long-term colonization of an implant with bacteria.  As a result, steps taken to reduce this risk focus not on the implant brand but rather sterility of the surgery and the implants themselves.  Surgeons will give you antibiotics, can use Keller funnels, irrigate your implant pocket with antibiotic solution, etc, in hopes of reducing your risks as much as possible.  Hope this helps

Implant brand and capsular contracture

The implant brand probably doesn't matter in regards to capsular contracture. A recent study showed the Ideal Implant had a lower rate than other implants, but that may not be due to the implant, but other factors in the study. Best thing is to see a reputable plastic surgeon who uses the Keller Funnel, triple antibiotic rinse, and consider Singulair postop.

What is the best implant brand to reduce capsular contracture?

The most important factor to decrease the risk of capsular contracture is the skill, expertise and experience of your board certified plastic surgeon.  The surgical technique is much more important than brand of implant and reducing the risk of capsular contracture.  The no touch technique, antibiotic irrigation and soaking of the implant, and placing the implant underneath the chest muscle are all important techniques to reduce the risk of capsular contracture.
