Buccal fat removal.

Is there any limit (maximum amount) regarding, how much fat can be removed at a time during a buccal fat removal surgery? Or does the amount of fat (to be removed) depends on the individual's desire and conditions? Thanks in advance.

Is there any limit (maximum amount) regarding, how much fat can be removed at a time during a buccal fat removal surgery?

Generally, during buccal fat removal removal all the buccal fat is removed during the procedure. In certain special cases, a partial buccal fat could be removed ( eg. in patents with a very mild chubby cheeks that just want an improvement), but is not the routine.

Buccal fat - how much to remove?

Thank you for asking about your buccal fat removal.
  • Buccal fat usually comes encapsulated and all the encapsulated fat is removed.
  • It should correspond in place and size to the cheek bulge that it aims to correct.
  • Since fat is found throughout the face, sdditional fat can be removed but risks giving a haggard look to the face.

Amount of buccal fat removal maximum amount

There is a limit of buccal fat which can be removed which is the amount of buccal fat present.  Buccal fat can be one or more distinct fat pads seen in the midface.  The amount of buccal fat present will vary from patient to patient and hence the degree of change will vary as well.
