Retin-A for hyperpigmentation?

I have hyperpigmentation on my face from hormonal cystic acne, and "down there" on my butt from HPV being treated with solution. Would Retin-A help this?

Treatment of Hyperpigmentation

Retina-A does not treat hyperpigmentation well, though it does treat acne well, especially if you have significant clogged pores. Hydroquinone is needed to treat the pigmentary problem that invariably accompanies acne. This can be added to your regular acne treatment or can be used as the Obagi Nu-Derm system as the major acne therapy to which you can add an antibiotic. See a physician with significant experience in treating acne as well as hyperpigmentation.
