Brown lesions

Thank your for your question. Identifying the type of lesion you have via photograph is difficult because a dermatologist needs to feel and look at the lesion under higher magnification with an instrument called a dermatoscope. If your lesion has any abnormalities, then a biopsy should be performed, and the tissue will be sent to a lab for evaluation. Also, other types of lesions may mimic moles, which makes assessing your lesion from your photo even more challenging. I understand new or rapidly changing lesions are worrisome, therefore, I highly recommend you consult with a dermatologist to evaluate the lesion and to discuss your concerns and questions. Take care and good luck.
